Fifeshire Foundation Reaches Milestone of $3 Million in Grants allocated in Nelson Tasman

Fifeshire Foundation a local charity dedicated to providing support and relief to individuals and families facing crisis and hardship, proudly announces a significant milestone: the allocation of over $3 million in grants since its inception in 1993.

This remarkable achievement underscores the charity’s enduring commitment to assisting those in need within our community. Since its founding, Fifeshire Foundation has been at the forefront of delivering vital support to locals experiencing emergencies, financial instability, and other critical challenges.

“Reaching $3 million in grants is a testament to the incredible generosity and solidarity of our community,” said Peter Verstappen, Chairperson of Fifeshire Foundation.

“This milestone reflects not only the hard work and dedication of our team but also the unwavering support of local residents and businesses who have stood by us over the years. Their contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of many, supporting our motto of locals looking out for locals.”

Since 1993, Fifeshire Foundation has been instrumental in helping individuals and families navigate through difficult times, providing essential aid for necessities such as food, housing, medical expenses, critical bills and education. The charity’s work relies heavily on the involvement and support of local donors, volunteers, and partners who share a common goal of making a positive impact.

Examples of the impact of the Foundation’s work are truly inspiring. One notable instance involves a local couple who, after receiving essential support from the Foundation 10 years ago, have since achieved stability and are now giving back to help others in similar situations. Another impactful story is that of a mother who, during a challenging period following a separation, received crucial support from the Foundation. The assistance she received made a lasting difference in her life, and today, she is paying it forward by helping others access similar support in her role at a local support agency

“To everyone who has contributed, volunteered, or supported us in any way, we extend our heartfelt gratitude,” added Verstappen. “Your kindness and commitment to looking out for one another embody the spirit of community that drives our mission. Together, we have built a safety net for those in need and demonstrated what it truly means to support locals in crisis.”

Fifeshire Foundation invites the community to join in celebrating this milestone and to continue supporting its efforts. For those interested in learning more about the charity’s programmes, upcoming events, or ways to contribute, please visit www.fifeshirefoundation.co.nz
